Cleopatra

I am always and forever playing with the way the light falls, and recreating portraits of myself from years past. The one of me in profile reminds me of a portrait I created at university. I felt like the modern day Cleopatra. I had blunt bangs, Egyptian style cat eyes, and red lips. I stared straight ahead as I snapped my own portrait on my dorm room balcony. It was probably one of my very first self portraits. That was ten years ago now. This is 28.

Oil Painting Studies

Take a look at the oil painting studies I have on my easel today. My studio has been experiencing an oil painting revival of sorts! The goal is to paint loosely and abstractly so that your eyes may fill in the missing pieces in the painting.
