During the halloween season, I like to think of myself as the pumpkin queen. I love to decorate my home with pumpkins, paint pumpkins, and of course - frolic amongst the pumpkins at the fairs.
(So please indulge me as I frolic with the pumpkins in these photos hehe.)
In all seriousness though, Half Moon Bay is the pumpkin capitol of the world. The cutest farms line the highway going up and down the coast. You can find any kind of pumpkin patch vibe you’re looking for out there.
This year, I wanted to try a family favorite, Arata’s Farm - and it didn’t disappoint! This is the perfect pumpkin patch to take a little family to. There’s a petting zoo, a maze, games, and a pumpkin ‘river’ that beautifully snakes throughout the field.
I personally loved how they staged the pumpkins. You’ll see throughout my photos of the fair that there are often clusters of beautifully paired pumpkins just casually sitting together against a gorgeous backdrop of hay or corn.
If you’re heading out there before the pumpkin season ends, might I suggest stopping at the Moonside Bakery and Cafe on main street? They have the best cookies and pastries there (I ate mine too quickly to snap a photo, so maybe that’s proof enough). Stop there, grab a pumpkin spice latte and a raspberry filled pastry, then head over to Arata’s Farm for a fun afternoon filled with pumpkins and all things October.
